WHY GO TO A SURF CAMP?

Surf Progression
A surf camp gives you the time and space to improve on the water.
With daily lessons, guidance when you need it, and the freedom to try waves at your own pace, you grow your skills naturally.
Group Experience
Beyond surfing, itʼs about the people you meet. Sharing meals, sunsets, and laughs with others who love the ocean creates a sense of community long after the waves are behind you.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need any surf experience?
None at all. Most of our guests arrive having never stood on a board. We run a beginner / intermediate / advanced system and your instructor assesses you in the first session so you’re in the right group. Experienced surfers who don’t want lessons can free surf or join guided sessions to the local breaks.
Do I need to know how to swim?
You don’t need to be a strong swimmer for beginner lessons. We stay in shallow water, waist to hip depth, with your instructor beside you the whole time. You just need to feel comfortable near the ocean, and we adapt everything to your pace. No pressure, ever.
Is the camp good for solo travellers?
It’s one of the best ways to travel alone. Around 40–50% of our guests arrive on their own. Shared meals, group lessons and evening activities make it effortless to meet people, and there’s a WhatsApp group before you even land. Most solo guests leave with friends they keep.
Where is the camp and how do I get there from Lisbon Airport?
We’re in Costa da Caparica, about 20 minutes from Lisbon and roughly 30 minutes from Lisbon Airport. You can take a taxi or Uber straight to the camp, or book our airport transfer when you reserve. Message us your arrival time on WhatsApp (+351 939 591 707) and we’ll make sure someone’s expecting you.
When is the best time of year to surf in Costa da Caparica?
You can surf here all year. Summer (June–September) has the warmest weather, the most social camp and the friendliest beginner waves. Spring and autumn are the sweet spot, good swell, fewer people, still warm. Winter brings the biggest, most powerful waves, best for intermediate and advanced surfers.
Do I need a wetsuit? How cold is the water?
Wetsuits are provided free, and yes, you’ll want one, the Atlantic here sits between roughly 15°C and 22°C year-round. Just bring swimwear to go underneath, plus a beach towel (we provide bed linen, not beach towels).
What's included in the week?
Seven nights’ accommodation, seven breakfasts, six family-style dinners, free access to all surf equipment, towels, linen and room cleaning, plus the weekly camp activities, including a BBQ and a wine tasting evening. Surf courses (Standard or Intensive), yoga packs and airport transfers are optional add-ons.
What are the rooms like?
You can choose shared dorms (4, 6 or 8 beds) or private rooms, cozy, standard, superior ensuite or triple ensuite. All guests share the pool and the large garden, with a restaurant and bar right next door. Dorms are the most social option and the favourite among solo travellers.
How many students are there per instructor?
A maximum of five. We keep groups deliberately small so you get real feedback after every wave and progress much faster than in a big school class. All our instructors are certified surf coaches with surf rescue training.
What's the cancellation policy?
You can cancel free of charge up to 7 days after your booking date, and rebook for free up to 14 days before arrival. Full terms here.
