Our focus is on providing high-quality surf coaching near Lisbon from certified and highly experienced surf instructors. We run weekly theory surf lessons which are delivered by our coaches, including presentations and video analysis designed to accelerate your progress during the surf camp week. Situated in one of the best surf spots in Portugal, which boasts the perfect waves to suit surfers of all levels. Here you will find the perfect balance between surfing holiday experience and local culture of the Lisbon region. You can enjoy the fully immersive Portugal surf camp atmosphere by staying where all the camp activities are located; or choose the Gota Dagua surf suites for a more family holiday destination atmosphere.

Portugal is well known for its fine cuisine which boasts a variety of local dishes. Our excellent chef Luizão will prepare a selection of dinners to ensure you experience the best of this Portuguese cuisine. All our dishes are prepared fresh daily. Dinners are served in our main surf camp and include starters, main course and dessert. We also select a Portuguese wine from our region to accompany each meal. Vegan options are always available.
Breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day, especially with a packed schedule of surfing and activities. That's why our breakfast is balanced and full of nutrition to keep you full of energy all day long. We serve a variety of fruits, juices, breads, pastries, cereals and lots of other accompaniments to ensure all diets are catered for.
We love bringing everyone together on BBQ night. We always serve a large variety of meats, vegetables, salads and pastas and of course vegan options are also available. We also have our famous sangria to wash it all down (we take no responsibility for your dance moves after). Once dinner is finished we have the best live music in town to keep you entertained for the duration of the night.
Our surf houses near Lisbon are located within walking distance of each other in the beautiful and calm neighborhood of São João da Caparica. You will find traditional cobblestone streets and cafes where you will be able to meet and greet the Portuguese locals. Ideally located just 8 minutes walk from the beach.
Our surf camp near Lisbon is located in Costa da Caparica, currently we have 3 surf houses for all traveller categories. The main surf house is where all the camp activities happen, as well as our bar, chill out areas and games room. This surf house also hosts all the surf camp breakfasts and dinners. Our second and third surf houses, next door, consists of many surf camp suites for a more private surf camp experience. Especially for families and couples who wish to enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of the main surf camp villa.
The twin rooms are spacious with plenty of natural light. The rooms are equipped with a clothing stand, bedside tables, power outlets, nightlights and access to the shared balcony. These rooms are the perfect choice for two friends.
Our shared rooms have brilliantly designed bunk beds, each with its own curtain for privacy, power outlet and nightlight. The shared rooms are the best choice for solo travelers and an excellent way to make new friends.
The triple rooms are similar to our double rooms except they are furnished with three single beds. They are also equipped with a clothing stand, bedside tables, power outlets, nightlights and access to the shared balcony. These rooms are perfect for friends who are travelling together.
The double rooms are spacious with plenty of natural light. These rooms can also be transformed into single private rooms if preferred. The rooms are equipped with a clothing stand, bedside tables, power outlets, nightlights and access to the shared balcony.
Our beautiful ensuite room is the perfect option if you want to go for an exclusive surf camp experience. It’s furnished with a large double bed, ensuite bathroom, clothing stand, bedside tables, power outlets and nightlights. Like our surf villa these rooms also have access to a large shared balcony.
We have a room where you can store all your surfboards and wetsuits without any damage to your surf gear. We know how much your beloved boards mean to you.
We have a fully equipped bar where you’ll find our hosts serving up some amazing drinks. You can choose from our speciality cocktails, local Portuguese wines, sangria, beer and much more.
After a long day of surfing nothing better than taking a shower outside with warm water. It is used a lot by all our guests when they walk to the beach and come back from a surf session.
Take some time out in our chill areas to wind down and relax before or after your surf lessons. Whether it’s to grab a book or practice some meditation, you’re sure to find a quiet spot.
If you need a location to work during your stay with us we have a co-working space available. Here you will have access to high speed internet, a projector, whiteboard and printer.
A fully equipped and modern kitchen where all our healthy meals are prepared by our chef Luiz. We have enough space for you to store all your snacks and drinks.
The games room is where the real competition happens, where our guests can take on their surf coaches and maybe teach them a lesson. Here we have a variety of board games, a ping pong table and a football table.

Just a 15 minute drive from Lisbon city centre, across the Tagus river, you will find the authentic and charming fishing village of Costa da Caparica. This beach break is one of the most consistent surf spots in Portugal, offering the perfect waves for surfers of all levels.
Costa da Caparica and the surrounding area boasts many stunning white sand beaches and untouched nature, surrounded by the breathtaking cliffs. The woodland that you will find here is dominated by stone pines and mastic-trees and is part of the Arriba Fossil botanical reserve. There are lots of pleasant walks near the surf camp villa to be found here which are outlined with trail signs.
Caparica is the perfect surf camp location for surfers of all surf levels. Due to its unique location we are blessed by great swells all year around. Most of the local portuguese surf beaches are divided by piers which help you grab the best waves and provide shelter on the windier days. You will find people surfing, skating, biking, jogging and doing workouts at the free outdoor gym located right next to our surf school in Portugal. Take one of our bikes or a skateboard along the promenade and explore the amazing view!
In Caparica town centre you’ll find plenty of local surf shops and markets to buy all your surf holiday essentials. After surfing you can chill in one of the beach bars or try a local Portuguese dish in one of the nearby restaurants.
Take the No.123 bus from Areeiro station direct to Costa Da Caparica and then it’s just a short walk to our surf school portugal located at Praia do Tarquínio (Approx. €3 in total).
From Cais do Sodré, take the short ferry across to Cacilhas and then grab an Uber from there directly to our surf school portugal (Approx. €10 in total)
Within walking distance of our surf camp houses you will find all the local amenities you need during your surfing holiday in Portugal including a supermarket, pharmacy, surf shops, coffee shops and restaurants. There is also an outdoor gym, kids playground, a park and the beautiful beach of São João da Caparica. Don’t forget, we offer free use of our bikes and skateboards to get you everywhere you need to go.
Cascais is a wonderful Portuguese fishing town located along the coast from Lisbon. The centre of Cascais has a charming feel to it and boasts many interesting tourist attractions including museums, historical mansions and parks. In the areas surrounding Cascais you will find lively resort towns and the famous natural scenery of Serra de Sintra, with its famous hiking trails and outstanding spots for surfing.
The hilltop town of Sintra is a famous and world renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will feel like you have landed in an episode of Game of Thrones when you visit the former residence of Portugal´s Kings, nobles, poets, painters and artists. Check out the Pena Palace which is the perfect example of ancient Portuguese architecture dating back to the Romantic period.
Nazare is home to some of the biggest waves in the world, this is due to the offshore water canyon which helps create these magnificent waves. The Guinness World Record for the biggest wave ever surfed was recently set in Nazaré. Between September and March each year when the big waves arrive, this area is a must see.
Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Famous for its warm and sunny character, this city is blessed with a wealth of historical monuments and world-class museums. Known as the city of the 7 hills, there are many viewpoints where you can enjoy a coffee while taking in the view across the Tagus river.
Famous for the statue of Cristo Rei, which was modelled on the Christ Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro and completed in 1959. If you reach Almada crossing the river by ferry you will arrive in Cacilhas, which is famous for its seafood and fresh fish which is grilled in almost every local restaurant. Next to Cacilhas you can take a walk on the Ginjal Riverside road.
Belem is well known for its impressive monuments, like the 16th-century Tower of Belem, the souled-shaped Discoveries Monument and the vast Ghotic Jeronimos Monastery. This laid-back area along the Tagus River is where you can also try the famous custard tarts at the Pasteis de Belem patisserie.
In the old town of Setubal, churches are adorned in pleated stone, designed to resemble a twisted rope. Along the quay, you’ll find many restaurants known for their fresh fish and seafood.To the east are the stunning hills of Serra da Arrabida Natural Park where you will find beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear turquoise water.
– Make it your mission once you leave the airport to find a local Portuguese coffee shop and try out our famous custard tart, the renowned “Pastel de Nata”.
– We have over 100 different dishes made using cod fish, so you should definitely sample some of the most famous while you’re here. Bacalhau com natas, Bacalhau à brás, Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá and Bacalhau á Minhota.
– Here in Portugal we have two famous beers, Super Bock and Sagres. You will find them everywhere you go, make sure to try both and let us know which is your favourite.

– Our most famous meat dish is the Bitoque which is a must try. It consists of beef steak served with fried potatoes, rice and a fried egg. Don’t worry we know where you can find the best one in town.
Found on the southern end of Costa da Caparica, our nude beach is secluded and perfect for naturist lovers. You will be able to relax and be yourself.
Walking distance from our surfcamp you will find a great tennis court. Don’t worry because they have all the equipment you need for a good match.
Thalasso Caparica Spa is situated in Caparica town centre and offers various treatments which are carried out with heated sea water. These unique treatments are incorporated into their renowned health and wellness plans and also complement other services such as osteopathy, physiotherapy, massage and many others.
Due to its rugged landscape, woodland and fossil cliffs there are plenty of mountain bike trails to choose from in Caparica and the surrounding areas. It's even possible to travel from Costa da Caparica to Cabo Espichel Lighthouse (40 km away) via beautiful off-road trails.
We have over 30 km of stunning white sand beaches, surrounded by the breathtaking Arriba Fossil cliffs. The woodland that you see all around Caparica is dominated by stone pines and mastic-trees and is part of a botanical reserve. You will find plenty of hiking opportunities here which are marked out with trail signs. Let us know and we will recommend some great trails.
Located in a protected pine woodland and close to the town of Caparica, Aroeira is a unique estate which comprises of two golf courses and a number of impressive mansions. Playing through tall avenues of pine forest, this golf course plays to 6,650 yards.
Located in the middle of Sao Joao’s Park, just a short walk from the surf camp, you will find the Fun Park. Here they offer a range of activities including wall climbing, tree top assault courses for different levels and even paintballing.
Enjoy an adrenaline filled day of kart racing at the International Karting Centre in Palmela. Located on a 200 hectare farm, Herdade de Algeruz. With 1270 meters of track it's sure to be an exhilarating day packed full of competition. There is also a Junior track and restaurant on site.
Our main focus at our surf camp Lisbon will always be on delivering the best quality surf lessons throughout your surfing holiday in Portugal . During your stay at our Gota Dagua surf camp near Lisbon, we will have lots of free surf camp activities to choose from as well as extra surf camp activities which can be added onto your package. From magical sunsets on the Arriba Fossil cliffs and exploring hidden beaches to BBQ nights and beach parties, it’s sure to be a surfing holiday like no other.
We encourage everyone that stays at Gota Dagua to participate in our weekly beach cleaning and community clean up sessions. One hour per week can make a huge difference and it’s amazing to see the amount we can achieve in this time.

From September to March each year is when the big waves arrive in Nazaré. During this time we organize trips to join the huge crowds gathering there to witness these magnificent waves, which are created by a huge offshore water canyon. Just recently the Guinness World Record for the biggest wave ever surfed was recorded there.
One of the main highlights of our week. This stunning beach with crystal clear turquoise waters, is only reachable by either boat or by a trekking path. We 100% recommend incorporating this excursion into your trip. The trip includes transport, a healthy lunch and activities such as snorkeling, beach games and even cliff diving, if you’re brave enough.

Maybe it’s your first time surfing or you have tried a few times before. Perhaps you need some extra support perfecting your technique and would like to increase your surfing knowledge? If so, this level is perfect for you!
Join our beginner surf lessons in Portugal! You will learn all the beginner surf basics in a safe and supportive environment. You will also learn about the surf equipment and how to take care of it properly, as well as safety information and surf etiquette. You will gain an understanding of how the wind, tide, swell and currents interact with each other and how it affects the waves you surf.
When you complete this level you will be able catch a nice selection of waves and understand surf hazards and currents. You will have sufficient practice of paddling, board control, standing up on the board, correcting your balancing stance and even starting to make small manoeuvres.
You have surfed many times, have a good paddling technique and have already mastered the basic surfing knowledge (waves, winds, swell, currents etc.) If you are ready to bring your surfing skills to the next level then this is the one for you.
Our at surf school in Portugal, you will be more focused on catching unbroken green waves while continuing to make you comfortable on the waves you choose to surf. The intermediate surfing lessons will dive deeper into your surfing knowledge. You will learn how to read tide charts alongside the swell forecasts. This surfing knowledge will help you determine the best times for your surfing experience. We will use tools such as video coaching and analysis to accelerate your progress.
When you complete this level you will be able to catch unbroken green waves without assistance while generating speed and cleaner manoeuvres as well as acquire spatial awareness of the line up.
At this stage you are surfing regularly, have gained a lot of experience and are able to catch waves alone on both sides. You know how to paddle out safely, get to the line up comfortably. You new feel ready to start making more advanced surf manoeuvres to perfect your surf style . You will have personalized coaching, through a continuous cycle of in depth video analyses, review and feedback.
We will focus on your timing and mastering a powerful take off. You will be introduced to the bottom and top turn, cut back and re-entry manoeuvres. All the while staying mindful of other surfers in the line-up.
We have a wide selection of surfboards including softboards, shortboards, mini malibus and also longboards for you to choose from at our surf school in Portugal. If you are comfortable and have the experience surfing without an instructor you can always grab a board and go surf the waves alone. We welcome a lot of guests who are solo travelers. It’s our mission to create an inclusive environment that welcomes everyone. Whether you’re travelling alone or as part of a group we guarantee you’ll make friends along the way. 80% of our guests travel alone therefore we are well prepared to create an amazing experience for solo travellers.
The typical age range of our guests is around 21-40. However, there are always exceptions and we welcome guests of all ages.
We are always flexible and will do our best to accommodate even last minute bookings. However we do advise to book early if you plan to travel during peak season as we get booked up quickly in the summer months!
Of course – with so many activities and places to visit in the local area we welcome everyone not just for surfing.
We will ensure that you get to experience the local Portuguese cuisine including a variety of meat, fish and vegetarian options. Don’t worry, no matter what your requirements we will do our best to accommodate.
Check-in is from 3pm to 9pm and check-out is before 11am. However we are flexible and if you need to arrange a different time just contact us to let us know in advance.
Within walking distance of the camp you will find a supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, a laundrette, ATM’s and a pharmacy. Everything else you can find in Caparica town centre, nearby to our surf school.
We have free parking right outside our surf camp.

However, even as a beginner if you decide to visit during winter or spring we will always find a nice spot for you to catch some waves.
The surf groups for adults have a maximum capacity of 5 students per instructor. We divide the groups according to your experience level.
You can use the surf equipment (wetsuits and surfboard) throughout your whole stay during and before/after lessons. You can also change your equipment depending on the wave conditions.
Flights are not included.
We are offering free cancellations and rebooking opportunities for all bookings with travel dates 2021. Free cancellation is applicable within 7 days after we received the booking form with exception of bookings made within 45 days before arrival dates. Rebooking needs to be done 14 days prior to the arrival date. Customers can rebook with an arrival date within 12 months of the change date.
In all cases we advise you to always follow these steps:
Send us a written cancellation with the number of your Booking Confirmation and your account number included, and we will refund the amount within 2 weeks from the cancellation date.
The date on which we receive the cancellation will be crucial for the amount of the refund / the Traveler’s payment responsibilities.

The initial reservation to secure your booking along with the first installment of 25% (or payment in full) should be made online. The remaining 75% should be paid no less than 45 days prior to the arrival date online. Bookings made within 45 days of the date of arrival are paid in full at the time of booking.
